Welcome to Packwood Wine and Country Estate in Plettenberg Bay, near Harkerville - our small and intimate winery offers a down to earth experience set on our beautiful working dairy farm. Getting here is a rustic journey off the beaten track, all part of the charm of our unique destination.

Every sip tells a story, savour our handcrafted wines and bubbly, a true expression of the surrounding terroir. Choose your favourite wines to take home, then meander through to our small and cosy luncheon area to enjoy our breakfast Eggs Benedict or one of our homemade farmhouse cheese lunches, made from our own produce and served with a smile by our friendly staff..

Our intimate eatery offers beautiful views across the farm and beyond. Cheese boards are designed for a maximum of two people sharing, perfectly paired with your favourite Packwood wine or a carefully selected vintage. Packwood is equidistant between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna along the Garden Route and is embraced by pristine indigenous Sanparks national forests, nature in abundance.

Our Tasting Room

Packwood is a small boutique wine estate near Harkerville, set within our working farm and ideally suited to those who enjoy exploring a little off the beaten track. Sip and savour our unique and authentic wines, stay a while longer and enjoy a relaxed homemade cheese lunch in our peaceful rustic luncheon area.

On warm days, wine tastings are served outdoors at the tasting area or on the lawn. A range of wines and bubbly are available. As a small boutique producer, we can sell out quickly - if you love it, buy it.

Choose your favourite wine to enjoy with a homemade farmhouse cheese lunch, made with milk from our pasture-fed Jersey cows. The cheeses are creamy, fresh and delicately flavoured, served with home-baked bread, preserves and a splash of seasonal salad from the garden - all produced with sustainability in mind.

With wine in hand, sweeping farm views and nature all around, it’s easy to feel the stresses of everyday life melt away.

Breakfast & Bubbles

Ease into your morning with breakfast overlooking the farm. Our much-loved Eggs Benedict is made with farm-fresh eggs and lashings of hollandaise sauce, served in harmony with birdsong and wide open views. Breakfast is available Monday to Saturday until 10am — add a bottle of Packwood bubbly to turn your morning into something extra special.

Winetasting

Enjoy a relaxed, down-to-earth wine tasting at Packwood Wine Estate, where our small-batch, cool-climate wines are poured in a peaceful farm setting. Tastings take place outdoors on warm days or in the tasting area overlooking the farm. Bookings aren’t required. Due to limited production, availability varies — we recommend taking a bottle or two home.

Cheese Lunch

Our homemade farmhouse cheese lunch is a highlight of any visit to Packwood. Made from the milk of our pasture-fed Jersey cows and flavoured with herbs from the garden, the cheeses are light, fresh and creamy. Served with freshly baked bread, preserves, dips and seasonal salad, it’s the perfect pairing with your chosen Packwood wine.

Winemaker’s Cottage

Set amongst the trees on Packwood Wine Estate in Plettenberg Bay, Winemaker’s Cottage is a secluded self-catering retreat for two adults, ideal for nature lovers, cyclists and hikers.

The cottage has an open-plan living area with a well equipped kitchen, a log burner for those chilly days in winter, private deck to the front and rear, a well stocked fridge with selected Packwood wines, including a complimentary bottle.

A separate multi-use room provides space for remote working or relaxation. Modern comforts such as inverter-backed essential power and a gas stove ensure a comfortable stay throughout the year.

Guests can enjoy relaxed braai evenings, pre-ordered homemade cheese lunches delivered to the cottage, and breakfasts at the estate’s luncheon area — on the doorstep to SANParks forests, the famous Petrus se Brand cycle trail, Plettenberg Bay coastline trails are a stones throw away.
