The Vineyard

In 2006 the start of Packwood’s little vineyard.

With very similar climates to parts of Europe and New Zealand specifically for growing cool cultivar wine grapes, Packwood’s little vineyard was born, located on a gentle rolling hill 330 metres above sea level.  Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot noir cultivars now produce award winning handcrafted wines and bubbly.  We take great care of our vineyard and work side by side with nature, our cattle and horses graze amongst the rows from the end of harvest to spring first budding fertilising the land.  We mulch our vine cuttings into the ground and we rain harvest over half a million litres of water per annum.   Our farming knowledge spanning over 5 generations, from growing cereals and rearing outdoor pigs, dairy and now wine has taught us great patience and understanding.    We hope you enjoy the fruits of our hard labour.
